Dr Michael Tan

Michael is a paediatric anaesthetist at Starship Children's Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand.  His main clinical interest is cardiac anaesthesia but he also likes to dabble in a bit of neuro and ENT.

After completing his anaesthesia training in Auckland, he undertook fellowships at Starship and Toronto SickKids. More recently he spent his sabbatical at KK Women's and Children's Hospital in Singapore. He enjoys teaching both inside and outside of the operating rooms.

Outside of work, he is desperately trying to keep up with his two kids who have endless amounts of energy and eat ridiculous amounts of fried noodles. If encountered in the wild he is likely to accost you with an explanation for why the best coffee is made with the Hario V60 dripper method. No counterarguments will be entertained on that front.
